Out and about....Japanese Street Style part 5 Lolita Fashion

From Fashionistable
Tashi is a student. She got into the whole Lolita, Japanese Street Style movement when she lived and went to school in Tokyo for 3 years. She bought her dress at Hyper Japan last year and her hair like all the girls this week is a wig. Her own hair is actually blonde. I think the red looks perfect on her though.

Out and about....Japanese Street Style part 3 Gothic and Cosplay

From Fashionistable
Today we have another take on Japanese Street Style with Kelsey in Cosplay as the Japanese Artist Kyrary Pamyu Pamyu and Reina in Lolita Gothic or Gothloli which is a slightly more edgy Lolita look.
Kelsey is from Barnsley and has a great accent. She made her outfit and wig with her Mum.
Reina on the other hand bought most of her look from Japan. Her skirt is from Moi-Meme-Moitie and her corset is from eBay.

I went to Hyper Japan over the weekend. So during this week I am going to bring you some of the interesting people I met there. Crystal Cheung is a student. Originally from Hong Kong she has lived in the UK for years. She has made her whole outfit but bought her lamb from Hyper Japan and shoes and backpack from Japan. When I asked her why she dresses like this she said "it is a more interesting fashion than normal British fashion".

Out and about....Lamb Walk

From Fashionistable
The street this image was shot in couldn't be any more appropriately named for this post, as the lovely, talented and beautiful Candice Lake is wearing a Woolmark coat. Perfect for the winter season ahead. A very stylish way to keep warm and snuggly.

It has been a busy few weeks for me. On Wednesday I was out shooting for Urbansquire. The brief was to photograph at the RCA and to get the lads and lasses there to be photographed wearing a Urbansquire beanie of their choice. As a further incentive to have their picture taken the images have been entered into a Urbansquire competition on their facebook page and the person with the most likes will win £100 and a beanie. If you fancy helping out the guys you can see all the images properly by following this link then going to the Unbansquire facebook page from there and liking your favourite. Otherwise you could always tell me here which one you like best.
I have to say it was a great day to take pictures and the light by the RCA was amazing.

Last night I spend a few hours at Somerset House photographing the lovely people who were invited to start off the skating season there. It is such a beautiful romantic location. If you like to skate I can't imagine a better place to skate outdoors. Running along side is the Somerset House Christmas Arcade. I just popped in briefly but plan to go back and will post instagram pic's when I do. Skating, shopping and muled wine all in one place. Sounds like a good day/night out to me.

Out and about....Shingai Shoniwa

From Fashionistable
From Fashionistable

I saw Shingai last night on a music quizz we have here in the UK called Never Mind the Buzzcocks and remembered I had these images of her that no-one ever published, not even me. Shingai is the lead singer of the Noisettes. I would say this a more subdued look for Shingai as I am more used to seeing her more flamboyantly dressed. Mind you these wonderful vintage earrings are a nice big nod to that side of her. In the shots she is wearing a Topman suit, shirt and pocket square, Kurt Geiger shoes and is carrying a bag she bought at a flea market in Berlin.

Out and about....Crispin St

From Fashionistable
I would say the location for today's shot is probably one of the most iconic in Spitalfields. It is certainly on of my favourites and it takes a lot not to drag everyone over to this spot to take pictures. It is wonderful that the owners keep the brilliant old painted shop front.
Louie is both a model and a visual merchandiser. When I asked him for his favourite place in London. He said "it must be Shorditch, well at least it the place I spend most of my time". His surprise for us is that he used to play football for Luton. Saying that even he finds that surprising now. I couldn't help asking him to tell me the story behind his magnificent moustache. He grew it 2 years ago for Movember, although he only managed to raise £1 for his efforts back then he has kept it going since.
Louie is wearing a Coat and trousers from French Connection, a shirt he bought in a market in Barcelona, Primark socks and Dr Martin shoes.

Out and about....Gabriele Hackworthy

From Fashionistable
From Fashionistable
Gabriele is the Fashion Director for Harpers Bazaar UK. I photographed her at my 1st ever fashion week and have managed to catch up with her at every one ever since. She is always chic and sleek in black. I very rarely see her in colour and if she does venture in that direction it is usually in a muted way. The coat she is wearing in this shot is by Carven.

Out and about....Movember Monday

From Fashionistable
I have decided to start a Monday Man series. And what a better way to kick off than speaking about a month dedicated to the health of men - Movember.

In their own words Movember (the month formerly known as November) is a moustache growing charity event held during November each year that raises funds and awareness for men's health. Movember - a global movement
Since its humble beginnings in Melbourne, Australia Movember has grown to become a truly global movement inspiring more than 1.9 Million Mo Bros and Mo Sistas to participate with formal campaigns in Australia, New Zealand, the US, Canada, the UK, South Africa, Ireland, Finland, the Netherlands, Spain, Denmark, Norway, Belgium and the Czech Republic. In addition, Movember is aware of Mo Bros and Mo Sistas supporting the campaign and men’s health causes across the globe, from Russia to Dubai, Hong Kong to Antarctica, Rio de Janeiro to Mumbai, and everywhere in between.

When I met James he was out promoting Movember and Gillette with their "The best a Mo can get campaign". They have a pop up shop at 10 Newburgh Street, London, W1F 7RN Visitors will be given tips on how to style their moustache, and a luxury shaving experience, plus lots of other events happening during Movember. So guys if you fancy a bit of pampering and styling tips as you grow your Mo pop along and say hello. (This is not a sponsored post, just being a MoSister).

James is a model, his surprise for us is that he is a fully licensed racing driver. His favourite place in London is Brick Lane. Here he is wearing a Barbour jacket, Jaxon hat, everything else is Topman.

Out and about....Rue Antoine Dubois

From Fashionistable
Daria and Julia are designers. Although they told me their brand is called Esme Vie I could only find this site for them Judari. Both of them are dressed in their own designs. They make great ambassadors for what they do. The colour combinations for me are divine.
